Briefly about Kratom
What Kratom exactly is? How does its production work?
Kratom is a fine-grained powder which is produced from dried crushed leaves of Mitragyna speciosa tree. This tree belongs to a family of coffee tree. The tree is found in lowland tropical rain forests in Asia. This location is ideal for growing Mitragyna speciosa trees.
In the 19th century Kratom was introduced to Europe by Dutch botanic Pieterovi Willemu Korthalsovi. Since then its popularity has rocketed around Europe.
Kratom came under scientific scrutiny in the 70’s of the 20th century. This has led to a discovery of 2 unidentified alkaloids: mitragyn and 7 –hydroxymitragin. These two alkaloids are named after its tree. Additionally, they contain about 20 further leaves of different kinds of alkaloids.
Kratom is divided into 4 basic kinds – red, white, green and yellow. The difference of individual kind is caused by a color of veining of processed leaves and by the content of individual alkaloids.
Red Kratom
Red Kratom has the highest content of alkaloids 7-hydroxymitragyn. Leaves for its production come from older trees and are picked later then other kinds.
White Kratom
White Kratom has the lowest content of 7-hydroxymitragyn. However, it contains more of the mitragynin. For the production the younger trees are picked. These trees are usually half of the final size.
Green Kratom
Green Kratom has balance amount of both main alkaloids and is considered to be a happy medium.
Yellow Kratom
Yellow Kratom is considered to be the rarest. For its production young trees and leaves are picked shortly after germinating.
